MSU Art Fair!

And so it begins...summer art fair season 2012!! Just Ware It! jewelry will be at the MSU Art Fair this weekend May 19 & 20 booth #190 by the Student Union close to Grand River (same spot as previous years). Perfect weather to be outside & enjoy some great jewelry and art. Hope to see you there!!

Hello everyone & happy spring! This 80 degree weather in March is truly getting me in the "art fair" mood!! Just want to let you all know that my applications to shows have gone out for this year and I will post an updated list of 2012 shows as soon as I receive jury results. Hopefully I will be invited back to all of the great shows I did last year (see list of shows at bottom of blog page) and a few cool new ones!!

This weekend 3/24 I will be at the Saline spring show www.salineshows.com and next weekend March 30 - April 1, I will be in Northville at the Handcrafters "Spring Fling" www.hcshows.com both shows should be fantastic and a great place to do some spring shopping and get ready for the beautiful weather ahead and jewelry to go with those new spring & summer outfits. 2011 Art Fair Season is upon us!

Thanks goodness summer is finally here and we are able to be outside and hopefully enjoy some summer art fairs. My list of shows for the year is posted at the bottom of the blog and I sincerely hope to see all of you somewhere along the way. I've brought back the "Ware Options" necklaces from a few years ago with a twist - they have a second clasp and a chain strand so you can wear them long or short...so many options with just one necklace I LOVE THEM!! As always, I'll try to have something new and unique as well as old faithfuls at each show.

It's hard to believe it's been "10" years since I started this business - wow!! I truly enjoy making jewelry - just wish I had more time in the day (like everyone else). To my many loyal customers...I can't thank you enough for all of your support over the years, I couldn't do it without you...you're the best!

Frankenmuth

Frankenmuth is a wonderful place to visit (even if the art fair was very small....) My daughter Makenna got to work with me for the first of hopefully many times. We enjoyed walking around, visiting the shops and she thought the food was great. (What a huge donut from Zehnders!!!!!) My Mom even stopped in for a visit - yea!!!!

Tina and I had a great weekend catching up at the Art & Orchard art fair. She insisted on getting us a beautiful hotel in Rochester and we had a fabulous "rotic" dinner
...(that's "romantic" without the "man" in case you didn't know.)

It really was soooo wonderful - thanks my sweet friend!

Ahhhhh Spring has finally sprung! I can't believe it's been sooo long since I've posted anything (I know... as I've said before, for those who know me, it's no surprise).

Life is just a little hectic as I'm sure it is for all of you. Between the Holidays, 3 kids playing basketball (what a long grueling season), getting my taxes done, the loss of a dear friend, my daughter playing the part of Dorothy in the school musical, both boys in track with Invitationals every weekend, and now tournament baseball - whoo hoo!! It's amazing that any jewelry gets made!!!! I do LOVE my life and cherish every busy moment.

I've posted my Art Fair dates for 2010 so please scroll all the way down the blog and check them out. I will be at a show this weekend May 8th at Clarkston High School and then start the outdoor season with MSU May 22 & 23. A heart felt THANK YOU to all of you for your support! It has been a fantastic year, even with this economy, I think jewelry just makes us all feel better?! I will start sending out applications for my 2010 artfairs in the next few weeks and will post those as soon as jurying is done.

WOW! What a crazy few months...it's been a true pleasure meeting all of you out there at the various art fairs. Plymouth proved once again why it is one of my favorite art fairs (that and Milford) the people are so nice and truly appreciate my work, the atmosphere is fab and the sales are always great (which really is the main reason I do this - I know...shocking!)

My art fair help has been my saving grace! My son Kody even had to pull a few shifts in Mt. Clemens (I believe he was a little board, but I couldn't blame him - he did an awesome job!) A huge thanks to Juli, Julie, Jayme, Christi, Carina and Kody.

Flint is a fantastic little art fair - perfect mix of artists and beautiful grounds of the Flint Institute of Arts. I really hope to get into that show again next year!

Chicago's Custer fair was a bust (sorry Custer Fair) and I would suggest avoiding it to all artisits!!!! However, Julie was great company and we did finally learn to laugh about the odd crowd and lack of sales - just flat out wierd!!! I finally started taking pictures of the crazy street performers, flea market booths and hippie vibe. (Aren't you sorry you missed it?) We did, as always meet a few nice people and am thankful for that. (Thanks FireHouse pub for letting us ride out the storm with some friendly locals!!)

Ann Arbor was long and grueling - ahhhhhhhh! Kings Courtyard was a great place to be and a heart felt thanks to Danette and her husband Bob for taking such great care of us. It was all in all a good art fair and probably wouldn't have been quiet so exhausting if I hadn't just come off of three days in Plymouth with only one day at home to make more jewels.


There was even a dog that came into my tent wearing a dress that matched my booth - gotta love it!!

I'm heading back to Chicago for one more art fair this weekend. This will be a wonderful show put on by Amdur Productions. It is in Skokie at Westfield Old Orchard July 25 & 26 and is a fine art fair. After that....one of my favorites - MILFORD Aug. 7, 8 & 9. Then Sept. with Rochester Art & Apples and Birmingham Art in the Park.

By the way....there has been some pretty cool jewelry along the way..............

A huge "Thank You!" to MaryAnne Maki for opening her home once again for the Annual Just Ware It! Holiday Open House. It was wonderful to see everyone and I truly appreciate your business and friendship.
